Jack Mabaso Dumps Generations The Legacy For New Show

Generations might find itself without their number one resident anti-hero soon, following, veteran actor Vusi Kunene quitting the show. According to reports by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, Vusi Kunene will be exiting Generations, leaving behind the character of Jack Mabaso.

Mphela further reported that the actor will be joining the new show on eTV, which will serve as a replacement for Rhythm City. He’s been in top Mzansi soapies, including Isidingo as Jefferson Sibeko, Isibaya as Bhekifa Ngubane and Gomora as Uncle Rodney Sibeko.

So powerful was the character of Jack Mabaso on Generations, that the showrunners brought him back to life, 8 years after his death on the show, a move that received mixed feelings from the fans. Despite always playing smart, cunning and evil characters, Vusi Kunene is actually a softie in real life and he is a pastor.

Although the actor doesn’t run his own ministry, he is very much involved in pastoral work and is often invited to churches as a guest pastor. It’s really awkward seeing Jack Mabaso, being a man of the cloth. Despite having a career that has crossed for nearly 3 decades, Vusi Kunene’s personal life remains private

The actor hardly gives interviews, and when he does, he rarely discusses his personal life. He was once in a relationship with fellow actress Grace Mahlaba. Grace Mahlaba is well known for playing the role of Ipileng on the now ended e.tv soapie Backstage.
