Nomzamo Mbatha She’s Building Her Acting Career In Los Angel After Leaving Isibaya
Mbatha moved to Los Angeles, California early this year to focus on building her acting career. She scored herself a role in Eddie Murphy’s upcoming to America film where she will work together with Arsenio Hall and Tracy Morgan.
She said “I can’t give you the details around the character I play because I am under very tight embargo but I will say that this was an incredible experience just being in that surroundings, I have never seen anything like it. For us (South Africa), a movie is a crew about 40 and Hollywood, it’s 200 so it’s just mind-blowing God has really put a lamp on my feet and in December we will be having different conservation and things will be very difficult next year”
Speaking of making move to US Mbatha said” it takes a lot of guts to make that move especially knowing the kind of success I have here home and to go and said I will start from step one. The support from home has been fantastic though. She mentions that it was always his plan to break into Hollywood’’.
According to the actress who now is based in Los Angeles, it has been a joy working with a brand that has some vision to her own foundation. The actress flew back to Mzansi this week to personally hand over bursaries to well-deserving students.
Mbatha Lighthouse Foundation and Hollywood awarded R547 700 in tertiary bursaries to 43 students.
She said. I named my foundation The Lighthouse Foundation because in the mindset of a storm people look to the lighthouse to guide them to the storm. Exactly what we want to bridge the gap for those who need it most. Blow my mind when I learn how much Hollywoodbets does within South Africa. They’ve already invested R300 000 into tertiary education with Gagasi FM. That’s why it makes sense to work with them to help bring education in South Africa.
