Skeem Saam trades actors with 7de Laan
Not so long ago we had many crossovers but the current crossover of 7de Laan and Skeem Saam is stealing the show. No doubt the star actors have unmatched talents and they know how best to wow Mzansi.
SABC1’s Skeem Saam and SABC2 soapie 7de Laan will be crossing over this week. And yesterday’s shows had the plug and we all wait for the drama full of thrills to unfold. Skeem Saam’s Kat, played by Patrick Seleka and Kwaito, played by Clement Maosa, will star on 7de Laan this week.
They will be shooting a scene at Beleef, a restaurant on the show. Their episodes will be aired this week and the coming week. The celebrated Skeem Saam firebrands will star in episodes that will be aired on 20, 21 and 26 April.
This week the trailer shows Gabby (Blyde Smit) at Oppiekoffie excited that the Skeem Saam stars will be visiting Melville. She then gets a role as an extra to be a waitress for Kat and Kwaito, with the help of Ivy (Nazli George), who not only works at Beleef but as an extra on Skeem Saam.
“In the coming week, will broadcast three special episodes featuring two characters from Skeem Saam, Patrick Seleka known as ‘Kat’ and Clement Maosa known as ‘Kwaito’. These episodes will broadcast on 20, 21 and 26 April AT 6 pm on SABC2,” they wrote.

“In its very first crossover of this nature,7de Laan explores the phenomenon of the concept to enhance the viewing experience for both shows,” they said.
However, Mzansi weighed into the matter with its two cents. Fans of the show were happy for the crossover, especially during these periods. Of late shows have been axed for failing to strike a balance between income revenue and viewerships. Some drama series such as Muvhango and 7de Laan saw their weekdays being reduced to 3 due to poor performances.
No doubt the crossover is set to turn up the heat on the shows. Of late we have had these crossovers and they have delivered. The crossover barely comes a few weeks after SABC announced the viewership patterns of March which saw both drama series trading on the negative.
