Brenda Ngxoli is a South African actress, motivation speaker, and director. She is best known for her famous work as Vuyo in the drama series called Home Affairs that aired between 2005 and 2007 on SABC1. She is also a workshop facilitator on a number of topics like health and business.

The fabulous Brenda Ngxoli   was born on the 3rd of July 1981in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.  The star is 40 years old this year 2021. She was raised in Kalk Bay in Cape Town and studied in Muzienberg where she finished her metric in 1997.


Brenda Ngxoli Education

Bongiwe matriculated in 1997, in Muizenberg, and joined the university. She graduated with a BA in Theatre and Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama from the University of Cape Town back in 2000, which set her up nicely for acting. She can fluently communicate in English, isiXhosa, and Afrikaans.

Brenda Ngxoli Career

Brenda began her acting career in theatre, performing in shows like Pick Ups directed by Chris Weare, Docs Wife, I-Klips and Sacred Thorn and Yes Medem, both of which were directed by Warona Seane and ran the Grahamstown Festival of the Arts in 2004. On television Brenda has appeared in Molo Fish 2, Interrogation Room, all four seasons of Tsha Tsha and the International nominated Home Affairs.

Brenda made her directing debut in 2004 when she directed Through Thick and Thin by Khanyi Magubane at the Market Theatre. In 2008 she was one of the celebrity dancers in the fourth season of the SABC2 reality dance competition Strictly Come Dancing. Her professional dance partner was Quintus Jansen.

In Episode 5 she was the fourth celebrity to be removed (28 February), after losing a dance-off against Ashley Hayden and Muntu Ngubane.
She played the role of Florence in three episodes of the television drama series The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, in 2009.

In 2010 she was named as one of the new presenters of the SABC1 celebrity gossip show The Real Goboza for the show’s fourth season, alongside Phat Joe.

In 2013 she replaced Thuli Thabethe as host of the Mzansi Wethu reality show Our Perfect Wedding, after Thabethe left the show to focus on her studies.

Though Brenda Ngxoli has been successful as far as acting and directing is concerned, she has been unlucky with men. She has been in and out of relationships for several years, and she has never been married.

Brenda Ngxoli won SAFTA 2020 Best Supporting Actress in the South African Film and Television Awards for her role as Nomande on iThemba. She has been nominated 9 times for SAFTA awards. Her role as Vuyo in Home Affairs got her an International Emmy Award nomination in 2007. Other awards includes the following:
