Uzalo’s Sbonelo Is Older Than Mamlambo In Real Life
Gugu Gumede plays the role of Nkunzi’s second wife and Sbonelo’s step-mother; Mamlambo on Mzansi’s number one soapie; Uzalo. Due to the fact that Gumede’s role is of an older, spiritual woman, she had to dress and act the part in spite of the fact that she’s actually younger than most of her co-stars including her step-son; Sbonelo.
Gumede was born in 1992 which means that she is currently 28 years old while her on-screen son; Sbonelo played by Wiseman Mncube was born in 1990. Gumede was born in Kwazulu Natal, and she was born to noticeable parents. Her dad was the late Simon Hulumeni Gumede and her mom is the celebrated freedom fighter; Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi.
Wiseman is an actor, playwright, and director. He graduated with a diploma in Drama from the Durban University of Technology. Before Uzalo, Wiseman was best known for his starring role as Mfanufikile in the ETV drama series; The Kingdom.
Wiseman has a daughter with his late wife, while Gumede doesn’t have children and has never been married. Sbonelo has always favored his other step-mother; MaNgcobo and partnered with her on the show as they’ve combined to take down Nkunzi several times. The two (Mamlambo and Sbonelo) currently live in Nkunzi’s house on the show which crows over 9 million views.
While fans haven’t been bothered about Mncube’s age because he looks his age, they’ve always been shocked about Gumede’s age as she looks and acts older than 28 on the show. This is due to Mamlambo appearance, where she often dresses in, long dresses, and skirts and practices as a prophet.
