Vusi Nova is an Afro-Soul musician from South Africa. His impressive career began after he moved to Johannesburg to build his music profession. After signing on for Muthaland Entertainment under the mentorship of Lance Steh, he managed to release the first track (Vusi Nova I’d rather go blind). Since then, his star has been on the rise as showed by a number of nominations and awards.

Vusi Nova was born on 24th September 1984. The star is turning 36 years later this year.  He grew up in Port Elizabeth’s New Brighton Township. His real name is Vusimuzi Nongxa.  Music has always been a big part of his life and Vusi can’t remember wanting to be anything but a singer. Despite a fake news report claiming in 2014 that Vusi was planning ‘the mother of all gay weddings’ with a man named Joseph Safra. Vusi revealed in 2016 that he is not married. He also denied popping the question. He did, however, say that he had a special lady in his life. Vusi described the mystery woman as ‘supportive’.

Many of Vusi Nova’s fans have been convinced for years that he is gay. Rumors about his sexuality started in 2014 when a mocking website published pictures of the singer with another man. The website claimed they were a couple.

Vusi Nova tried to ignore the claims but admitted it hurt him when the rumors continued. He was asked about the rumors again in 2017 but declined to confirm or deny the reports. Vusi said he did not need to explain his love life to anyone and enjoyed keeping people guessing about his relationships.

Vusi Nova moved to Johannesburg to pursue his dream and got signed at Muthaland Entertainment under the guidance of legendary businessman Lance Stehr. He released his first single I’D RATHER GO BLIND to much praise from music censors.

He has done numerous partnerships with a number of musicians and opened for a number of international artists that have both formed and inspired him throughout his career. The past years have seen Vusi Nova reaching the height of his career. He was nominated twice for the Metro FM Awards for Best Afro Pop and Best Male but he did not win but the nomination itself spoke volumes on the type of artist he is.

Vusi Nova was named Music Royalty after he performed his song Ndikuthandile in front of a crowd that loved his music. The SAMA 23 came and saw the afro-pop impression being nominated and winning an award for the Nanina album. 2017 being the year for Vusi Nova, afro-pop singer also won 2 awards at the South African Afro Music Awards in 2017, winning Best Afro Album and Best male.

Vusi Nova Car



Vusi Nova bought himself a Range Rover Sport in 2017. He took to his Instagram page to share a picture of his new wheels. “Results of hard work! Just trying to inspire you because I’m inspired every single day of my life,” he wrote.

February 2020, Vusi Nova was on his way to the airport when his vehicle rolled hitting a fence on the side of the road. Fortunately, he didn’t sustain any injuries and there was no one with him in the car. In a video clip he shared on social media he shows the damage caused by the accident.
